Steve Hellig writes Another Pack of Lies

Picture and article heading of Another pack of lies by Steve Hellig
A rambling and confusing post by Steve Heilig in SFGate attacks the electronic cigarette – but the only telling point he can make is both hypocritical and a lie.

In the post he writes that the device “claims all sorts of benefits”. He’s unable to deny the benefits directly – regained sense of smell, no tar, no tobacco, 1/1600 the amount of carcinogens in e-liquid e.t.c. are hard to argue with.

So instead he implies the e-cigarette industry – and anyone who might dream of supporting it – is being funded by the tobacco industry.

Although I don’t think it really matters who makes the e-cigarette (some tobacco companies make safer alternatives to cigarettes which are much better than smoking) the accusation is still a blatant lie.

But the response of linking any defence/promotion to e-cigs to tobacco funding is understandable.

Because his whole movement is funded by the pharmaceutical industry which manufactures smoking cessation solutions. Solutions which  mostly either don’t work or cause people to kill themselves.

There’s only one reason to promote quit smoking methods which are often less effective than cold turkey, and that’s money.

But one good thing rears it’s head.

When anti-smokers are forced to lie in order to attack the electronic cigarette, you know they are desperate!
